About this role

We are looking for an experienced Auto-CAD Technician to join our client's dynamic engineering team in Aberdeen. You will play a crucial role in producing multi-discipline drawings and documents for various projects and enquiries, ensuring high-quality results that meet both internal and external specifications. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cross-functional teams, contributing to the successful delivery of projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Role

  • Generate detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models using Autodesk software such as AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Maintain and update the CAD library, ensuring components, templates, and standards are current and accessible.
  • Conduct quality reviews of drawings and models to ensure they meet internal and external requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and procurement teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ensure that design evaluation and validation meet customer requirements and compliance standards.
  • Distribute drawings and documents to relevant parties internally and externally.
  • Assist with project-related enquiries and provide technical support when needed.
  • Obtain quotations for project materials and equipment, reporting on work status as necessary.
  • Liaise with certification body surveyors and suppliers as required.
  • Participate in continual improvement processes and safety meetings, ensuring compliance with QHSE standards.

Requirements:

  • Recognised technical qualification or 5 years of similar work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of DNV 2.7-1 structures.
  • Fully competent in the use of AutoCAD software packages.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
